India vs England ODI series: India beat England by 6 wickets in the opening match. After humiliating India in the T20 series, England knocked them out in 4 matches and won the Vitality T20 series 4-0. Shubman Gill leads the team alongside veteran Indian players like Virat Kohli (King Kohli), Rohit Sharma (Hitman), and boom-boom Bumrah, who is making his comeback after a long break.

The ODI opener match between India and England was played at Edgbaston Stadium. England won the toss in their favor and elected to bat first. India captain Shubman Gill had made fans with a variety of chances in the team. Kuldeep Yadav, an Indian successful spinner, could not find a place in the playing XI. Gurnoor Brar, the Team India management had shown confidence while Prasidh Krishna was the front-line pacer for India.

England batter struggles against the Indian pace bowlers like Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna in a few overs.  Jacob Bethall and Ben Duckett had no answer to Indian pace bowlers swinging deliveries. Gurnoor Brar had leaked runs from one end England scored 51-0 in 1st Powerplay after 10 overs.

Gurnoor Brar took the Jacob Bethall wicket after the powerplay and took the Ben Duckett wicket in the same over, sending both openers to the pavilion. The England batters, after Jacob’s wickets, start collapsing; one batter comes, another goes. England had scored 42 and lost 5 wickets between the 11th and 20th overs.

Joe Root handled the innings well with Liam Dawson. Joe built the innings while Liam took time on the crease. At one point, England looked like they could not pass the 200-run mark, but Joe and Liam’s partnership helped England put a decent score on the board. Liam Dawson was caught out on 68 runs when he tried to hit a loose ball from Axar for six.

RO-KO Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s wickets went down easily while chasing the score of 259, but Shubhman Gill’s 80 runs (retired out) and Axar Patel’s brilliant knock helped India to register an easy victory over the home team England by 6 wickets.

Indian players are in the loop of injuries.

Indian captain Shubman Gill played a fine innings of 80 runs as he was set to score another century. But England’s bowlers were unable to stop him from scoring runs, and his hamstring cramp made him stop short of a century as the Indian ODI captain.

Shubhman Gill was ruled out of the India vs Afghanistan series due to his hamstring injury. He played some fine cover drives, but as he closed in on a century, he struggled to stay on pitch . This is not the first time an Indian player has retired out in this match; it was Gurnoor Brar.

Gurnoor Brar had not completed his 10-over quota due to a minor cramp that came when he came to bowl on the 48th over. He struggled with the ball, so Axar bowled 48 overs and took the wickets of Adil Rashid and Jos Tongue, and England were bowled out for 258 runs .

Gurnoor Brar took the wickets of England’s openers when they started falling for shots. He was expensive, but her ability to get extra bounce from the pitch is quite impressive. He had conceded 61 runs and taken 2 wickets in the 9th over.

Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the ODI series.

Indian pace bowler Harshit Rana has been officially ruled out of the ODI series due to a hamstring injury. Harshit Rana has played 2 T20 international matches during India’s tour of England. He had bowled 7 overs in both these 2 T20 matches, giving 70 runs and taking 3 wickets with an economy of 10.00. In place of Harshit Rana, Prince Yadav had been given a chance.

India’s fast bowling definitely misses Harshit Rana’s magic in the T20 series, where the Indian bowlers leak runs like water . Harshit Rana’s fast and ability to swing the ball in and out can make a difference. Indian Team players suffer a lot of hamstring injuries in the India tour of England, which has raise a question about the Indian team’s fitness.

India has replaced the injured Harshit Rana with young pacer Prince Yadav.

Varun Chakravarthy: Grade 2 left hamstring injury; missed the India vs England ODI series and the Zimbabwe tour.

The primary wrist spinner, Varun  Chakravarthy, had suffered a hamstring injury in the 3rd T20, which led him to be replaced with Ravi Bishnoi. He had played 3 T20 international matches against England in a 5-match series.  Because the first T20 was abandoned, he conceded 37 runs and took 1 wicket. In the 3rd T20, he conceded 37 runs and took 1 wicket, and in the 3rd T20, he failed to take a wicket.

Men in Blue had missed the spin bowlers a lot in the T20 series, where the spin bowlers from the Indian side completely flopped. He will miss the Zimbabwe tour as well. Till now, the BCCI has sent reverse bowler Ravi Bishnoi in place of Varun Chakravarthy.

India’s fitness has been in question after a ton of players suffered hamstring injuries.
